I AM IN LOVE WITH MATERNITY BOUDOIR!!
Throughout my photography career, I never really thought too much about mixing boudoir and maternity portraits, but now I think it is an awesome way to photograph pregnant Mommas - and I am going to tell you why!!
I always kept Maternity Portraits and Boudoir Portraits in separate camps. However, Maternity Boudoir portraits have been becoming increasingly popular and it is easy to see why! Below I am going to outline the top 3 reasons that Maternity BOUDOIR is the way to go when planning your next pregnancy photo shoot.

NUMBER 1 - VARIETY OF POSES
In the past I have photographed traditional maternity portraits and there is always one difficulty I noticed when shooting…you can really only pose your subject standing or possibly sitting, which limits the variety of portraits. Boudoir style posing allows you to lie down - both on your back and side, stand against walls etc - all in a variety of poses that flatter both Momma and her baby bump!
I also find that the style of posing lends itself to showing off your baby bump - especially when lying down. It is the perfect way to show off and highlight your beautiful pregnant belly!!
There is also a sense of beauty and intimacy to boudoir portraits that lends itself really nicely to a maternity portrait session. That sense of quiet anticipation for your new arrival is tangible in your portraits. The intimate nature of the portraits creates a quiet sense of peace that you and your baby share.
Another nice thing to mention is that the portraits are always focused on creating exceptionally FLATTERING portraits of Momma!! Now that is always a BIG bonus!!

I also coach all my clients through the choosing of outfits to insure your session is an absolute success!

This is a true relaxing, luxury experience for you! No tramping through the woods on a hot summers day or freezing in the Buffalo snow for you! Imagine yourself being relaxed in a lovely air conditioned studio while music plays and our wonderful hair and makeup artist takes care of you. Then you can relax and have some snacks and drinks before beginning your portrait session. This is a day for YOU to relax, unwind, be pampered and be comfortable in an air conditioned studio. No walking around dealing with the hot summer or cold winter!!
