WELL, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT A REAL-LIFE BOUDOIR PHOTO SHOOT IS LIKE? LET’S DRAW BACK THE CURTAINS…
Before we even get started with the photo shoot, we have a consultation on the phone to talk about your boudoir photos. It is a great way to break the ice, get to know each other a little before the day and also a chance to help you prepare for the session - which outfits you will bring and the style you are going for. We also discuss any questions you might have. I would also encourage you to not be strangers and stay in touch by following along on social media or texting outfit ideas, etc. I am here to assist and guide you through this whole process and am always there if you have a question.
On the actual day of your photo shoot, you’d be happy to hear that it is a very relaxed environment. It is just us ladies hanging out, taking some pictures and capturing some portraits of you looking beautiful. When you come into the studio we chat a bit, look through your outfits and plan out the shoot a little. Then you sit in the chair and relax while your hair and make up is done. I play some music for you, get some snacks and the atmosphere is very casual, relaxed and all about just unwinding and having a good time.
By the time you are starting your Boudoir photo shoot, you have had some time to get used to your surroundings, and feel comfortable about the session in general. You are never rushed through your photo shoot, so you always feel relaxed, moving along at a steady pace. It is a VERY relaxed environment. It is an ALL LADIES environment and at the end of the day we are all there to have a fun, relaxing day and take some pretty pictures!
It might be hard to believe, but it really does begin to feel normal wearing your lingerie. Think of it this way, we go to the beach and wear swimsuits, it really isn’t that different and you will find yourself being quite comfortable. Plus you will be distracted with working the poses, which is good, because your mind will be on getting into the pose which can be a bit of work - even if the finished portrait makes it look easy!
Speaking of posing, rest assured I know that you are not a professional model and I do not expect you to perform for the camera and create your own poses. Your poses are carefully executed with my direction - I will even show you the pose first and help you step by step get into the pose until it looks flattering and natural.
As the Boudoir shoot progresses, you will find yourself settling in, getting used to posing and having a good time - and that is what it is all about! I want you to have a great experience from choosing your outfits, to having your hair and makeup done and then your boudoir pictures taken, right through to coming back to the reveal day and seeing your portraits for the first time! It should be an experience to remember!
But don’t misunderstand me ladies, it isn’t all a walk in the park, you are going to have to work!! Yes, I have been told by my clients that they have woken up the next day a little sore! You will be asked to bend and stretch to make the shots and it will be a bit of a workout!! But I’m not too mean, LOL!!
You will wear several outfits during the photo shoot. To give you the most variety in your finished portraits, expect to wear around 4-6 outfits during your boudoir photo shoot.
